Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to water systems, as stated by city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a distinct assault in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by city authorities.
